The artistic practice developed by Fernando Sánchez Castillo (Madrid, 1970) is fundamentally based on conceptual art. Through sculpture, drawing and videos he researches the relationship between art and power, alluding to collective historic memory and also making clear the power which still have determined symbols of our society. The monument, documentation, public space or tradition become implements for digging up our most recent past, building up thus the need of redrawing history as kind of hybridization between comic and journalistic illustration prior the use of photography.
